    Zora Neale Hurston- Author of 4 novels and over 50 short stories, plays, and essays. Wrote the famous book that was made into a movie called Their Eyes were Watching God. She was one of the great writers of the Harlem Renaissance. Alice Walker- Known for writing the novel The Color Purple which won her a Pulitzer prize.
